Every once in awhile I like to participate in online photo contests and see how I do. As some of you know, I grew up as a competitive athlete so I don't shy away from a little competition. This cold, snowy morning in Park City, I received an email that just warmed me right up! I recently joined a photography community called PhotoCrowd. There was a 'new joiners' photo competition so I threw in one of my recent composites of my daughter and won two awards!! I was awarded 1st in the Expert category and 4th in Crowd favorite! What a great way to start the weekend :)
Here was a comment from one of the judges:
"Brilliantly executed photograph. The strong gaze and expression of the girl draws you in to the dreamy story. The colour treatment is very subtle with the skin tones working well against the sky and the grasses. Have a look at Robert ParkerHarrison - The Architect Brother, if you don't know it already.... Well done, great work." ~Julian Ward
If you need a takeaway here: don't be afraid of a little competition ya'll :)
