I admit it, I'm a huge procrastinator!  Perhaps that's the reason for this blog post - I want you to learn from my HUGE mistake!  
But first let me ask you this question.....why haven't you invested in a professional photographer recently? Is it time? Money? You think you can just take the photos yourself?

Trust me, I know you how you feel, I've thought all of those things.  Let's start with the planning of my wedding many moons ago before I ever picked up a camera. We were penny pinching at the time so I asked my college professor in my photography class if he would photograph my wedding.  I had never seen his work but he was the right price and I just assumed he knew what he was doing.  I also convinced him to just sell me the original slides because the DIY'er in me was convinced I would create a wedding album myself.  The first mistake I made was assuming he was a good wedding photographer.  Ummm, let's just say, I wasn't jumping up and down after seeing the photos :( Sadly, these two photos are probably the best of the bunch.  My second mistake was insisting on purchasing the negatives.  Yup, you read that right...negatives slides (long before the digital age) and they are still sitting in a shoebox in the back of my closet having yet to see the light of day on the pages of a wedding album.  

MY MISTAKES:

• I DIDN'T do my research to hire the right person for the job.
• I DIDN'T place enough value on the importance of capturing this very special day.
• I DIDN'T think 25 years later I still wouldn't have a wedding album to show my kids.
