There's something about the mountains of Park City.
The way everything slows down a bit. The way it makes you want to explore, even if you're not exactly sure where you're going.
That feeling is what inspired this piece.
As a Park City family photographer, this landscape has always felt like the right place to build something.
Where the Story Begins
Not one exact place. More like the feeling you get driving through areas like Guardsman Pass or around Deer Valley.
Open space. Fresh air. A little bit of quiet.
It's the kind of place where kids just do their thing. And somehow, that becomes the story.
Meet the Young Explorers
These three brothers set out on an adventure.
They've got a map. They've got a compass.
Are they actually using them correctly? Probably not.
One is trying to figure out where they are. One is already ready to move on to the next thing. And one is just focused on getting a photo of the birds overhead.
They might be a little lost. But they're also completely in it. Curious, focused, having fun.
And that's the part worth remembering.

What Composite Portrait Art Actually Is
This isn't always a studio shoot. Sometimes I photograph on location. But I don't have to.
Composite portrait art means I can photograph each person separately, then build the entire scene. The mountain, the mood, the moment. Layer by layer until it feels real. Even if we never set foot on that trail together.
That's the point. It's not about capturing a place as it is. It's about taking a feeling and building something from it. Something that feels true to who your kids are right now.
From Your Family to the Wall
Every family brings something different. Sometimes it's a full story. Sometimes it's just a few small details. A hobby, a place they love, the way siblings are with each other that's hard to put into words.
From there, I start putting the pieces together. And somehow it finds its way into something meaningful. Something you'll still want on your wall in twenty years.

Begin Your Own Story
If you've ever wanted something a little different than a traditional family photo. Something that feels more like your kids. More like this stage. More like a moment you don't want to forget. That's where this begins.
